BP-WR is a compact emergency food that is characterised by its long shelf life, high nutritional value and comparatively small volume.
It has been used for years by aid organisations to help cope with famines and other disasters. BP-WR is also widely used worldwide as emergency rations in the military and on expeditions.
BP-WR has high nutritional values - one 500g pack is equivalent to 2,432 kcal. BP-WR is completely vegetarian and free from genetically modified ingredients. It is ready to eat and does not need to be cooked. It can be eaten straight from the pack or made into a porridge with boiling water, for example for children aged 6 months and over. The flavour is slightly sweet
The 5kg carton of BP-WR consists of 10 packs of 500g each. Each pack contains 9 packs with 2 bars each. The 500g unit is also vacuum-sealed to make it gas and waterproof. A water-repellent cardboard box protects this unit. Production is monitored by the Norwegian Ministry of Health.
The BP-WR is labelled with a minimum shelf life of 7 years for legal reasons. Experience has shown that BP5 has remained in perfect condition even after more than 30 years of storage.
